Updates
The idea has been updated since the last meeting due to budget and time constraints. It still involves gears and the solar system, but with a different representation. Instead of a large panel of copper, the new concept is to use wood, creating eight layers of planetary gears. Each layer represents a planet in the solar system. All the planetary gears share the same shaft, which is connected to a stepper motor, with each group having a different ratio and size, causing them to move at varying speeds. Below are some sketches, calculations, 3D model screenshots, and the updated timeline.
