As an ITP student, personally, I carry my laptop to school basically everyday. Other than laptop, a notebook, a pencil and a pen are also essential. I take my iPad with me when needed. Besides the items mentioned, I barely carry items that I wouldn’t be using to school.By observing my colleagues, I have the following assumptions -- and I am hoping to integrate them into the interviews and ask students what they need.

• the material for the backpack -- New York has some severe weather and we usually carry electronic devices with us. I am wondering what materials the interviewees prefer.

• space for jacket -- the building does not have the best HVAC system and it feels very cold every so often. water bottles are essential -- some folks leave them on the floor, some bring them home everyday.

• space for laptop -- some folks I know keep their school/work laptop in the locker.

• space for pcomp stuff -- we all know how it feels when the jump wires tangle.
